Post Workout Maca Smoothie

I like smoothies. A lot. That's why I tend to gravitate towards them for my after workout snack... and for breakfast and a post dinner snack... I mean, if it were up to me we'd be eating smoothies all day everyday. I live in sub freezing weather which seems like ALL YEAR ROUND and I still make cold ass smoothies on a daily basis.

My new favorite ingredient, especially because it increases fertility, is maca powder. It. Is. Awesome. Delicious and nourishing.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 C Frozen Raspberries
  • 1/4 C Frozen Blackberries
  • 1/4 C Frozen Blueberries
  • 1 Scoop Collagen Peptides
  • 1 Scoop Purium Gluten Free Shake
  • 1/2 C Nut Milk of Your Choice (thin with water if too thick)
  • 1 tsp Ionic Magnesium
  • 1 TBSP Maca Powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Blend all ingredients and top with Pomegranate Arils, Chia Seeds and Mint.

Why is it good for me?

  • Berry Mix - High in vitamin C, folate and potassium. All good for a soon to be mom!
  • Collagen Peptides - If you haven't tried them yet, they are amazing. Not only do they support joint, bone and skin health (giving you glowing skin even before pregnancy) but they aid in digestion. They are a perfect workout recovery drink because they have been shown to help synthesize creatine in the body.
  • Ionic Magnesium - Magnesium is important for both boosting energy and promoting muscle relaxation and sleep. Magnesium plays a key role in digestion and regulates levels of calcium, potassium and sodium.
  • Maca - This adaptogen is naturally high in minerals  including calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc. It packs about 20 essential fatty acids, lipids, fiber, carbohydrates, protein, and amino acids to boot! Great for repairing muscle and promoting faster recovery. Also has been used for ages to boost fertility.
